I got a call this morning from a blocked number. I normally don’t even answer these but for some reason I decided to answer it. The call turned out to be from a very kind gentleman near Millbank, who told me he had found our balloon capsule!
Apparently, it had come down in a corn field not that far north of our predicted landing location (he had seen the flightmap page on my website). Looking at the map, this is very near to where we had calculated it would be, but we probably just didn’t see it hidden in the corn
The footage is apparently intact (he saw my number when the sign on the capsule flashed by on the video) so now I just have to drive back out there and pick it all up. Sadly, I’m leaving for Vegas on Thursday so I won’t be able to make the trip until the Saturday after next and the suspense is already killing me. I can’t wait to take a look at the iPhone and figure out what went wrong!
